What is Beavers?

Beavers is the section for young people who are aged between 6 and 8 (it is possible to start the first session from age 5 3/4). At Beavers, young people take on new challenges and learn new skills.

Beaver groups are called colonies. They usually meet every week during term time on Wednesday evenings to take part in activities, as well as getting stuck in to bigger adventures at the weekend. To register for Beavers fill in the form here.

News & Blogs

5th Guildford Scout Group is made possible by volunteers from the local community. We're helping young people gain Skills for Life, and we need your help.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help relaunch the Beavers section, for young people age 6 - 8. Beavers has run successfully in Onslow Village for many years but paused during the COVID period. We know that there is a lot of demand for Beavers in Onslow Village, who can then join Cubs and Scouts when they are older. Could you volunteer to join the team to restart Beavers? You don’t need to know anything about scouting to get involved and volunteering is flexible. This includes being flexible on the day and time that sessions run. There's a way to volunteer that's right for everyone.

Whatever skills you have and whatever time you can give.

For a conversation or to find out more about volunteering, get in touch with us here.
